NEWPORT-Private Michael Halpin, Company A, Permanent Party, general service, United States Army, was tried at Newport Barracks for drunkenness and using reproachful language to his superior officer. He was sentenced to be confined at hard labor under guard for six months and to forfeit sixty dollars of his pay.
