POOR-Michael Maloney, commander of the James Wallace Costigan Post, American Legion, announced Monday the opening of a headquarters at 31 E Sixth st. Newport, where the relief committee of the post will receive contributions from citizens for the needy. Royal Randlett, chairman of the relief committee is in charge of the headquarters.

Mike Maloney, Newport Courthouse custodian and a Navy veteran of World War I is making a personal campaign of Campbell county soliciting playing cards for the boys in the service.
Mr. Maloney asks that persons having used or new decks of playing cards send them to him at the Courthouse or to some branch of the service.
