Armed with a warrant for the arrest of Sheriff John Nagel, of Campbell co. Constable C J Tucker created a mild sensation at the Newport Courthouse this morning. The warrant was sworn out in court of Squire Jesse Darlington, of the Grants Lick District on the affidavit of Nancy Gray, who alleged the Sheriff had been guilty of hunting on her lands near Grants Lick without her permission.

Constable Tucker failed to locate the Sheriff, who is out of the city. Tucker stated he would serve the warrant if he had to wait a week for the Sheriff's return. At the Sheriff's office it was stated there had been a mistake made, as the Sheriff had not hunted in that locality this season and that someone else as being Sheriff Nagel.

At the noon hour Constable Tucker was warming a chair in the Sheriff's office waiting for that official's return.
