WOUNDED-PVT. Nicholas Gross, 28, a former member of the Newport Police Department has been wounded in action in Germany on Oct 11. Pvt. Gross lived at 213 W Seventh street, Newport, with his wife and their three children.
Pvt. Gross named a patrolman Aug 6, 1943, entered the armed services last February and has been overseas since last June. He was attached with an infantry unit.
