NEWPORT

The City Council held a regular meeting night before last. The only business transacted worthy of note was the disposal of the two children of Mrs. Wiltsey, who have been laying in jail for some time past without friends or a home. The elder, a girl of ten years, was bound to John Stone, and the younger, a boy of seven, sent to the Poor house until a suitable place could be provided for him.
