Cannon, Mrs. Mabel Vane; nee Tannehill; b-Nov. 26, 1872 in Dayton, KY; d-Sat. Feb. 5, 1949 at 9:15 pm at the College Hill Hospital, College Hill, Ohio. Age 76 years 2 months & 10 days. Her husband, Dr. A. B. Cannon died 10 years ago and was buried in Ridgeland, S.C., where they lived prior to his death. F-Tuesday, Feb. 8, 1949 at 8:00 pm at the Dobbling Funeral Home, Bellevue, KY. The body was then taken to Ridgeland, S.C. where it was buried beside that of her husband in the Ridgeland S.C. Cemetery.  She leaves on brother: Jess Tannehill, Dayton, KY; one granddaughter: Mrs. Jean Houston, Covington, Ky

Mills Funeral Home, 1720 East Third Street, Dayton, Ohio and also at 2:00 p.m. at Spring Grove Cemetery in Cincinnati, Ohio.  The undersigned conducted the service and committed? at the cemetery. The Dayton, Ohio service was conducted by Dr. W.R. Grunewald. She was the aunt of Mrs. John Wolff of Cincinnati, Ohio; Mrs Augusta Campbell and Mrs Selma Campbell, both of Dayton, Ky. Vogt, Sargeant Walter; b-July 30, 1918 in Dayton, Ky; d-Jan. 17, 1945 in a hospital in Heidelberg, Germany.  Aged 26 years 5 months & 18 days.  Entered the service of the country Sept. 1941.  During World War II, he trained in various camps and went overseas in 1944 with the 44th Engineers in Belgium, France and Germany.  He was wounded during the battle of the Belgium Bulge in Dec. 1944.  He was captured by the Germans and placed in the hospital in Heidelberg, Germany where he died.  His body was sent to the United States and arrived at the Vonder Haar Stetter Funeral Home, Newport, Ky on Wed. Feb. 2, 1949 at which home funeral services were held on Monday, Feb. 7, 1949 at 2:00 pm. Aged 18 years 5 months & 3 days.  Attended Newport & Dayton schools.  Enlisted Jan. 1944, went to Paris Island on March 17, 1944; later at Camp LaJeune, then 10 days furlough in July 1944, left then for Pacific Islands end of July 1944; Was on Guadalcanal, landed in Okinawa Easter 1945, where he died in action.  Received Posthumous awards: Presidential Unit Citation Ribbons with one star; Asiatic-Pacific Campaign Medal, Victory Medal World War II; also Purple Heart.  Was attached to Co-E, 2nd Bat, 29th Marines, 6th Marine Div. Funeral serviced Tuesday, March 29, 1949 at the Radel Funeral Home, Newport, KY. Interment followed in Evergreen Cemetery, Southgate, Ky. He was escorted by a military guard and received military honors at the grave.  He leaves his parents: Mr Albert A.
