Persimmon Grove/Kane

This small community was first named Kane. Later it became Persimmon Grove and is located at the juncture of Persimmon Grove Pike and Race Track Road.  It apparently got its second name from groves of persimmon trees in the area.

The 1880 census listed 110 people in Kane, Campbell County.  It boasted a school, a tobacco warehouse, a general store and Baptist and Methodist churches.

The Kane post office operated to the late 1800s.
