A fire at the Peters Coal & Supply Co. Taylor and Grandview avenue, Bellevue Ky. yesterday afternoon destroyed the half block, one story frame building. Firemen were able to save the company office.

Albert Peters, company president, believes the fire started in the garage. He saw the flames at 1 pm and calle firemen. He said the trucks parked in the garage at the west end of the building, were removed without damage. He was unable to estimate the amount of damage but expressed hope the firm will be able to rebuild. The Peters family has had a business at that location since 1921.

Belleuw Fire Chief Franklin Moore said firemen had the fire under control within 15 minutes, even though it had already engulfed the entire building. Firemen also prevented flames from spreading to a gas station next door. Charles Burns, a Bellevue sanitation worker, who helped fight the blaze, was hit above the eye with a nozzle that got out of hand. He was taken to Speers Hospital in Dayton Ky. treated and then returned to the fire. About 35 volunteer firemen from Bellevue, Woodlawn and Ft Thomas fought the blaze.
