The returns form the county come in very slowly. Bad roads and stupid election officers are to blame. We are in receipt of the thrilling information that Pond Creek voted solidly against Nelson. The gallant young Colonel had not received this news when our reporter saw him yesterday afternoon and we quake to think of the effect upon his nerves when he learns this.

The reason for the solid vote for Schriver is that Pond Creek luxuriates in an abundance of cold water.
