Robert Shaw Family Cemetery

Alexandria

Located Upper Lick Branch and Grandview Roads off Route 10, behind the red barn  This cemetery was catalogued by Shelby Meyer and Rosco Hornsby in the early 1960s, and was field checked July 5, 2006 by Herman R. "Buck" Seibert

The cemetery has been mowed recently and only about a half dozen stones are still standing. Most stones are now in a pile in the middle of the area. The barn has been in very bad shape for several years and it looks like the storm over the weekend has dealt its final blow.  The front of the barn is now leaning out toward Grandview Rd. and is about to fall down.  I suspect the barn will be removed soon since it is a hazard.  I was told by a passerby that the 80 acres are for sale for $2 million.
