Ruth Amelia Reis (nee Schalk), 97, passed away on February 14, 2026 at St. Elizabeth Hospice in Edgewood KY.

She was a Food Demo Sales Representative with Meijers Grocery in Cold Spring. Ruth was a member of the Rosary Society and Bereavement Committee at St. Thomas Parish, She belonged to Club 55 and the Mothers Club at St Thomas. She was also a volunteer at St. Luke Hospital and Carmel Manor Care Facility.

Ruth was born on May 8, 1928 in California KY to Andy Schalk and Bertha Wirsch. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Gilbert Reis, son, James "Jim" Reis, brothers, Ralph & Charles Schalk, sisters, Dorothy Stienes, Berdie Thomas & Velma Gubser.

Ruth is survived by her sons, Kenneth (Janet) Reis & David (Karen) Reis, daughters, Donna (Brian Hoffman) Taylor, Patti (Roger) Neltner, daughter in law, Jan Reis, a sister, Jean Nehus, sister in law, Ruth Schalk, 14 grandchildren, & 28 great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm, Friday, February 20, 2026 at Muehlenkamp-Erschell Funeral Home, 427 South Fort Thomas Ave. Ft Thomas Ky.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:00 am Saturday, February 21, 2026, at the St Thomas Church, 26 East Villa Place, Ft Thomas Ky.
Entombment will take place in the St. Stephen Cemetery For Thomas Kentucky.

NOTE: Ruth was a very big supporter of the Historical Society as both her sons founded it. She managed the phone tree for years and the Christmas and Picnic food assignments. We miss her already.
