Commencement Exercises
The Newport Colored school will hold its commencement exercises
Friday night. The salutary and essay will be delivered by Miss Mayme Elizabeth
Washington, her subject being, "Failure or Success". The school essay and
valedictory will be delivered by Miss Lorinia Gee, the other graduate. Her topic
will be "Intellectual, Moral and Physical Education" Other numbers on the
program are:
Declamation, "One of the Heroes" Miss Ethel Horner
School Essay, "Looking Forward" Miss Lulu Howell
School Declamation, "Searching for the Slain" Miss Ethel Baker
Recitation, "The Ride of Jennie O'Neil" Miss Eva B McConico
