Sylvanus H Stebbins, an old resident of Campbell County, died Monday morning at 5:45 at the late home, 227 West Eleventh Street, Newport, after about two weeks illness. He was a prominent GAR man, being Chaplain of William Nelson Post, No 1, for the past three years.

He leaves a widow and four children, Charles E, of Newport, George H of Cincinnati; Laura Carbert of Sparta Ky. and Iva Hammond of Bellevue Ky.

NEWPORT-Sylvanus H Stebbins died at his residence, 227 West Eleventh street, yesterday morning of the grip.  The deceased was a pioneer resident of Campbell County.  He was a member of William Nelson Post, GAR, and served as chaplain of the post for a number of years.  A widow and four children survive him.

Page 5-The members of the William Nelson Post, No 1 GAR and all old soldiers are requested to meet Thursday at 12:30 pm at their hall, Fifth and Monmouth Streets and proceed in a body from there to the home of the late S H Stebbins, 227 West Eleventh Street. Services will be held at the First Baptist Church. Rev Thompson will officiate. The burial will take place at Evergreen Cemetery.

FUNERAL-The funeral of S H Stebbins, an old veteran will take place Thursday at 2 pm with services at the Baptist Church. Rev Thompson will officiate. The remains will be laid to rest in Evergreen Cemetery. The following will served as pall bearers from William Nelson Post No 1 GAR of which he was a member: G W Armstrong, William Thoburn, Joseph H Gaupel and
Alfred Mosher and the pall bearers from the church will be: J J Ware, Richard Wood, Edwin Smith and W M Gosney. The members of the Nelson Post will meet at the hall at 1 pm to attend the funeral in a body.

WILL-The will of Sylvanus Stebbins, deceased was left for probate in the County Court in Newport, Saturday afternoon. He leaves all to his wife, Anna Stebbins and names her as executor without bond.
