Syvilla C Getz
 

Syvilla Fister Getz was born in 1888 in Cote Brilliant, Campbell County, Kentucky, the daughter of August Jacob Fister and Eleanor Ryan. She graduated from Bellevue High School in 1904 and married Vernon Colsher Getz, son of Jacob and Frances Getz. She taught art art at the Bellevue High School for many years. She died 17 Feb 1970 in Dayton Ky and was buried in Evergreen.

The Bellevue Board of Education announced Wednesday that Mrs. Syvilla Fister Getz of Fister Hills, Bellevue, will be the new art teacher for the Bellevue schools. The art course is the first in the Bellevue schools. The landscape and portrait paintings of Mrs. Getz have been exhibited at many art exhibitions in greater Cincinnati and her work has been recognized throughout the country.

Mrs. Getz will teach art from the second grade to the eighth grade inclusive and will offer elective classes to the students in the senior high school.
