NEWPORT NEWS
The School board met on Tuesday evening last, and made the
appointment of the following teachers:
L G Massey, (former teacher in the colored
Schools of Cincinnati) Principal of High School;
W Clopper First Assistant:
Lucy B Tingley
In the Intermediate, the appointees are:
Y R Morris and ____ Ross
In the Primary Schools, they are Miss Emma Alexander, Miss Christian McConnell, Miss Mary Rodley, Miss Levin Gracey, Miss Belle Maratta, Miss Kate Nelson, Miss Sarah Gunn, Miss Mollie Lindsey, Miss Jennie Craig and Miss Mary Hollep.
The music and writing teach is Mr. James Walds. Pretty good work for a Black Republican School Board. The graduate of the schools are ruled out to give place to others. All right, we suppose.
