FATE OF VICTIM-Hearing of traffic charges against James L Butler, 31, Cincinnati, was continued Wednesday night by Judge R G Grayson in Park Hills Police Court. Judge Grayson said he would postpone the hearing about three weeks to determine if William West, 23, of 606 Washington avenue, Newport soldier, will recover from auto accidnt injuries suffered in a collision early Monday on Dixie Highway.

Police said Mr. Butler's car crossed the center line and crashed head on with an auto occupied by three men returning to Ft Knox. The Newport man was the only seriously injured. Mr. Butler was charged with reckless driving and driving while under the influence of alcohol. He has been held in Kenton county jail under $350 bond. Judge Grayson left the bond unchanged. Mr. Butler indicated he was willing to plead guilty, but Judge Grayson declined to hear the charges pending determination of the soldier's condition at Patterson Air Force Base Hospital, Dayton, O. where he was transferred from Booth Hospital Covington. He suffered a skull fracture.
