Vandiver Cemetery

This cemetery is located across the road from the Robert Smith farm whose address is 242 Demossville Road. This cemetery is in the extreme SW corner of the county.  Only a couple hundred feet from the Licking River.  They even have a Butler address I'm told.  Right across the river is DeMossville and the mouth of Grassy Creek which featured prominently in the early history of the County.  There was a ford or ferry there very early on.  I think it was called the Robert's ferry.  There is mention in the early Court Orders about a road from the Kennedy ferry at Belmont (Mentor) to the Robert's ferry.  The following children are possibly in this cemetery as they are not listed in the Oakland Cemetery.

Vandiver, Andrew J d-Aug 1870 in Grants Lick; age 12 years
Vandiver, John d-Aug 1870 in Grants Lick; age 8 years
Vandiver, Mary K d-Aug 1870 in Grants Lick; age 3 years
