NEWPORT

In the County Court yesterday a motion to have the will of the late Charles E Remelin admitted to probate was heard. It was offered by Eleanor C Remelin, widow.

The children of Remelin's first wife were in Court but did not offer to contest the document until Judge Moore ordered the will to probate. Objection was then made by the children and they prayed an appeal to the Circuit court, which was granted.

The value of the estate is estimated at about $40,000, consisting primarily of stocks and bonds. The widow is required to give bond in the value of the property, which may come into her possession. It is claimed by the children of the first wife of the decedent that his second wife, who was very young, brought undue influence to bear upon the testator.

The case will be bitterly fought in the upper Courts. The children, Mrs. Lillian Remelin Wells, Charles C Remelin, McLean E Remelin, Mrs. Gertrude Willetts, Morgan C Remelin, and Miss Bessie Remelin, are represented by Attorneys Schaefer, Peck, and Gray, while the wife's interests will be watched by Attorneys Dickerson, Clore and H M Benton.

One clause in the will specified that in order that the children shall not break it each shall be given $5.
