I, Elizabeth L Speers, widow of Campbell County and State of Kentucky, being of sound mind and disposing memory to make, and publish this last Will and Testament, hereby revoking all former wills and Codicils thereto made by me.

1st. I will all my just debts be paid as soon as practicable after my death.

2nd. I give and bequeath to Solomon Speers and Ann Speers his wife and to each of their six children, the sum of one thousand (1000.00) dollars in all eight thousand (8000.00) dollars.

3-I give and bequeath to Charles S Hartridge of St Louis Mo. the sum of ten thousand ($10,000.00) dollars.

4-I give and bequeath to each of the six children of Sarah Jane McCune deceased, the sum of one thousand ($1000.00) dollars.

5-I given and bequeath to Mrs. Kate Mirely of Batesville Ind. the sum of two thousand ($2000.00) dollars.

6-I give and bequeath to the St Joseph's Orphan Asylum, situated at or near Cold Springs in Campbell County Kentucky, the sum of two thousand ($2000) dollars.

7-I give and bequeath to the sisters of the Good Shepherd, situated back of Newport, in the Highland District, Campbell County, Kentucky, the sum of two thousand ($2000) dollars.

8-I give and bequeath to the Campbell County Protestant Children's Home of Kentucky, situated near Newport, the sum of tow thousand dollars ($2000.00).

9-I give and bequeath to Charles Speers of Springfield, Mo. five thousand ($5000.00) dollars. Said sum is not to be paid to him however, until he is twenty one years of age, and he shall have no interest unless he arrives at that age.

10-I give and bequeath to Emma Speers of Springfield, Mo. two thousand ($2000.00) dollars.

11-I give and bequeath to Mattie G Reeves of Cincinnati, Ohio the sum of two thousand ($2000.00) dollars.

12-To each of the three children of Dr. G B Schoolfield of Dayton Ky. to-wit: Clarence, Pearl and Ray, I give and bequeath the sum of two thousand ($2000.00) dollars.

13-I give and bequeath to William G Pickering my house and lot on the South-west Corner of Berry avenue  and Jefferson street, in Dayton Ky. with all beds, bedding, pictures, carpets, furniture, glass and crockery ware, and everything pertaining to house-keeping, which may be in said house, or on said premises at my death.

14-I give and bequeath to each of the four children of William J Coppock, of the City of Cincinnati, O. the  sum of two thousand ($2000.00) dollars.

15-I give and bequeath to Marie Louise Makibben and Edwin Leon Makibben, each the sum of two thousand $2.000.00) dollars. Said money is to remain in the hands of my Executors until said children shall arrive at the age of twenty-one years, severally and neither is to have any interest, in the same, unless they arrive at said age.

16-I give and bequeath to Bina Elizabeth Speers Makibben the sum of ten thousand ($10,000.00) dollars to be paid to her when she arrives at the age of twenty one years. Said money is to remain in the hands of my executors until she arrives at said age and she is to have no interest in the same unless she does arrive at said age.

I also give and bequeath to the said Bina Elizabeth Speers Makibben, a sum of money sufficient for her support and education until she marries or arrives at the age of twenty one years, whichever event just happens and I direct my executors hereinafter named to se apart out of my estate, the sum of ten thousand dollars for that purpose.  Any balance which may remain of said fund, after the execution of said purpose, shall become a part of my general estate.  Said money is to remain at all times, in the hands of and under the control of my executors and no part of the same, is to be paid at any time to any statutory or other guardian she may have, but her guardian may if he so desires at any time have the custody of her person. By Support I mean Boarding and Clothing also.

17-It is my will that all the legacies specifically given herein except those given to the Makibben Children and that given to Chares Speers, be paid by my executors as soon after my death as the same may be conveniently done.

18-I hereby nominate and appoint as Executor of this Will, Dr. C B Schoolfield of Dayton Ky. and William G Pickering and William J Coppock of Cincinnati, O. and request that no Bond be required of them or either of them as such Executors.

If either of said person shall refuse or cease to act as Executors, then the other two shall select a third in his place and if he be a proper person, the County Court of Campbell County shall appoint and qualify him as administrator, with the will annexed and he shall have with said others, the same powers as though originally appointed by me.

To each of my Executors in full compensation for their services as such, I give the sum of Five Thousand ($5000.00) dollars.  I hereby authorize and empower my said Executors to sell and convey any of my real and personal property and to execute and deliver all deeds, conveyances and writings necessary or proper to invest the purchases with the title and interest sold.

I also authorize them to rent or lease any of my real estate as to them may seem best and it is further my Will that no purchaser or leasee shall be required in any case to see that the purchase or lease money is properly applied to the purposes set out in this will.

19-It is my will that my said Executor after the payment of my debts, and after the payment of those specific legacies which are in no way contingent, and after provision for all contingent legacies and the support and education of the said Bina Elizabeth Speers Makibben as herein before set out and the payment of all costs and expenses incident to the settlement of my estate, convey and transfer the entire balance of my estate, real, personal and mixed of every kind and wherever situated to Dr. B K Rachford, Dr. C B Schoolfield and William G Pickering as Trustees in trust for the establishment and maintenance of a hospital in the city of Dayton in Campbell County, Kentucky.  The said hospital to be erected, maintained and conducted in such manner and upon such plan as in their judgement would do the greatest good. Said Trustees shall annually, report all their acts and doings to the highest Court in said County having Original Equitable jurisdiction and all vacancies in said Trustees, shall be filled by said Court.

Said Court shall require from said Trustees proper Bonds for the performance of their duties, and it may allow them annually, out of the trust funds, a just and fair Compensation for their labor.  If any legacy should lapse or if there should remain in any fund set apart for any purpose, any money after the execution of said purpose, then all such moneys and all moneys or property which from any cause may at any time be in or come to the hands of my said Executors after carrying out the provisions of this Will, other than said provisions as to said hospital, shall be paid over to said trustees and shall become a part of said Hospital Trust fund.

20-If any one contest this will, he shall take nothing under it.

In witness wereof, I have hereunto set my hand this 20 day of June 1893.

I, Elizabeth L Speers being of sound and disposing memory do make and publish this Codicil to this last Will which bears date June 20, 1892; that is to say. I do herby revoke and annul the Legacy given by and under the Eleventh item of said Will to Mattie G Reeves, of Cincinnati, Ohio.  Said legacy being for the sum of two thousand ($2000.00) dollars, and I hereby declare it to be my will that take nothing there under.

I reaffirm and republish every other part of my said will.  Witness my hand and seal, this 24 day of June 1893.

The foregoing Last Will and Codicil thereof was presented to Court at the above Term for Probate and record and fully proven by the attesting witnesses thereto C B Hayward and A F Goetz which was approved by the Court and as such established as and for the last will and testament of Elizabeth L Speers deceased, and ordered to Probate and to be recorded which is accordingly done in my office.
