Funeral services for William H Lyons, former state representative, who died late Saturday at his home, 329 E Third st. Newport will be held Tuesday at 2 pm at the Vonderhaar & Stetter funeral home, Third and Overton streets, Newport. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery.

Members of the Capt. A M Wetherill Camp, United Spanish American War Veterans, will hold services at 8 pm at the funeral home. the Ladies Auxiliary of the camp also will hold services.

Lyons was born in Cincinnati and came to Newport when he was 2 years old. He served two terms in the Kentucky Legislature beginning in 1894. He was secretary to Senator DeBoe, but resigned the position to accept an appointment as captain of commissary in the First Pennsylvania Regiment in 1898. He was connected with the Internal Revenue Department for 25 years. For the past several years he served as past department commanded of the United Spanish War Veterans of Kentucky.

He is survived by three sons, Charles F Tacoma, Wash. James R, Aurora Ind. and William T, Covington; one daughter, Miss Ethel M Lyons, Hubbard O; three brothers, Matt, Dayton, Samuel, Philadelphia and Albert, Newport and one sister, Mrs. Charles I Thomas.
