William "Willy" Walls

Kentucky Post, Friday, 5 July 1895, page 6

TERRIBLE FATE-While playing tag with a number of playmates, Willy Wall, a bright little boy of 6 years, whose parents reside at Eighth and Washington avenue, ran against the corner of the front dash of an electric car on Washington avenue, between Sixth and Seventh streets, Wednesday evening and before the motorman Albert Kushea, could check the car, the wheels had passed over the child's body, killing him almost instantly.

It is evident from the statement of eyewitnesses that the motorman was wholly blameless. He surrendered himself to the Sheriff, but Judge Bennett ordered his release on his own recognizance. This is the first fatal accident which has ever occurred on the line of the C&SC Railway.
