NEWPORT-Recruit Zachariah Andre, of general service; Desertion. In this that Zachariah Andre, of general service USA having been duly enlisted as a soldier in the service of the United States, did desert the same on or about the 25th day of November 1866 at Newport Barracks Ky. and did remain absent until apprehended at or near Dayton Ohio, on the 25th day of November, 1866.

And the court does therefore sentence him to be dishonorable discharged with the loss of all pay and allowances now due or to become due and to be confined at hard labor in such penitentiary as the reviewing officer may direct for the period of three years. The proceedings and findings in the cases of recruits William Morrison and Zachariah Andre are approved. The sentences awarded them by the Court are confirmed, but mitigated in each case to forfeiture of all pay and allowances due them up to the date of this order and ten dollars per month for eighteen months, during which time they will be confined in charge of the guard at the post at which they may be serving.
