Johnnie Greene's Highlanders - 1901

Contributed by Pat Dailey. Pat's grandfather, George Dailey, played for the Highlanders in 1901, which leads us to believe that the photo is from that year.

Piedmont/Westernport Baseball Team - Early 1900's

Lloyd Dailey, labeled #6 below, played with the team from Westernport/Piedmont. Lloyd was born in 1875 and died in 1909. By 1900, LLoyd was already 25, so this photo may even be from the late 1800's. Since all the players are listed, it may be possible to determine the date of this picture by researching old Cumberland & Piedmont newspapers.

Notice just how dressed-up this group of baseball fans are! Even some of the player are wearing ties.

Hancock Baseball Team - ca. 1909

My great-uncle, Ralph Grove (b. 1892), is seated on the right, the others are unknown. The players on the left appear to be in Chicago Cubs uniforms, and the one in the sweater has the letters I C showing. While researching, I discovered that the managers often wore sweaters and had the team name across the front of their uniforms. I sent the picture to the Cubs website with no response.
