Civil War - Company D, Second Regiment, Potomac Home Brigade, Maryland Volunteers

Reprinted from "Guarding the River, the Canal, and the Railroad" with the permission of Jack Sanders

The following is a compilation of musters showing the following information: Name, Rank, Residence and Dependant Family at Enrollment. Most were enrolled at Piedmont, Va. [WV], in July, 1861; they were mustered into service at Cumberland, MD, on August 28, 1861.

[It should be noted that I have made the best possible attempt to present each name correctly, however, the spelling of names is often different from one record to another. Names in Military Records may differ from the same name in civilian life. I have already found that the name of Patrick Brennan in these records is Patrick Brannon in the Mineral County Courthouse records. This may be true of others also. Please notify me if you see or know a different spelling. Thanks. Jack Sanders]
