FOSS—DRATH VOWS SPOKEN SEPT. 10

Miss Bernice C. Foss, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Foss rural Hazen became the bride Sept. 10, of Reuben J. Drath, son of Mr. and Mrs. Sam Drath also of rural Hazen.  The wedding was held at 6:30 p.m. in the English Lutheran Church of Hazen with Rev. E. C. Goetz performing the single-ring ceremony.

Preceding the ceremony Miss Phyllis Stoetling sang, “I Love You Truly” and “O Perfect Love.”  Miss Marjorie Berdahl played the nuptial music.

The bride, who was given in marriage by her father, wore a gown of rayon marquisette made with inserts of lace and a long train.  She wore a double finger-tip veil.  Her only jewelry was a string of pearls, a gift from the bridegroom.  She carried a bouquet of roses.

Matron of honor was Mrs. Roy Clark, sister of the bride.  She wore a dress of blue chiffon net.  Miss Orgena Drath, sister of the bridegroom was dressed in pink brocaded net.  Both attendants carried bouquets of chrysanthemums.  The bridegroom’s attendants were Roy Clark, brother-in-law of the bride, and Eddie Weidrich, cousin of the bridegroom.  Ushers were Lee Burns and Roy Malke.

Following the wedding, the bride’s parents entertained 170 persons at a wedding dinner served in the church parlors.

The bride teaches in a rural school and plans to continue with her work.  The bridegroom is engaged in farming. He is employed at the Rahn Brothers farm near Hazen and he and his bride will make their home there.
