AT 25 YEARS.

Mr. and Mrs. Theo. Huber, Hazen, were feted at a silver wedding observance held in their honor at St. Matthew’s Lutheran Church here Sunday evening, Nov. 1, 1959.

The Rev. G. H. Fiechtner delivered the anniversary sermonette and heard the couple renew their wedding vows. Attending the couple were Elthor Huber, Stanley and Mrs. Eldor Bohrer, Valley City, both of whom were the couple’s attendants at their marriage. LaRue Wohlfeil was at the organ and accompanied Paul Weiser, soloist, as he sang, “O Perfect Love” and “Praise to the Lord, the Almighty.”

Presiding at the reception held in the church parlors was the Rev. Fiechtner.  Bernie Aarthun, Joe Blaisdell and Robert Stroup spoke briefly. Mrs. Paul Guenthner and Maxine Huber sang, “A Perfect Day.” Their accompanist was Connie Wegerle.  Mrs. Ed Grosz and Mrs. Herb Isaak poured. A niece of Mrs. Huber, Mrs. Leonard Baszler of McClusky, kept the guest book. The anniversary cake was baked by Mrs. Richard Isaak, Bismarck.

Approximately 175 relatives and friends attended the observance, among them being Mrs. Huber’s mother.

Mr. and Mrs. Huber were married at the Trinity Lutheran Church of Mannhaven on November 4, 1934, by the Rev. Hy. Dorn, now of Longmont, Colo.  Mr. Huber is the son of Mrs. Maria Huber, Hazen, and the late Jacob Huber Sr.  Mrs. Huber, the former Ann Isaak, is the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. August Isaak of Hazen. Ever since their marriage the Hubers have farmed 19 miles northeast of Hazen, living on the farm until 1951, when they moved to Hazen. In addition to farming, Mr. Huber is engaged in home and business construction work.

At 40 Years.

Forty years ago, on Nov. 4, 1934, two members of the Hazen community were pronounced man and wife. That couple has been on hand to help many throughout the years; to share their time and energy.

This Saturday, Oct. 26, at 9 p.m. in the Hazen City Hall, there will be a celebration to honor Ann and Ted Huber on their forty years of married life.

The children of Ann and Ted, welcome all the friends and relatives of their parents to join them at the City Hall in wishing them a happy 40th anniversary.

TED AND ANN HUBER CELEBRATE 50 YEARS!
Children and Grandchildren Host Open House

On Saturday, Nov. 3, 1984, the children and grandchildren of Ted and Ann Huber hosted an open house reception at the Hazen City Hall.

Ted and Ann were married on Nov. 4, 1934, at Trinity Lutheran Church, in Mannhaven. They farmed along for a year, and then Ann’s sister was widowed with eight children. At that point they moved to the Emma Guenthner farm. They lived together for two years and raised their families as one family. In 1938 they moved back on their own farm where they lived until 1951, when they moved to Hazen.

Four children blessed this marriage. The children are: Loretta (Mrs. Stan) Zarambo, Maxine (Mrs. Gary) Beckwith, Harvey (married Kathy Stroup) and Rodney (married Michele Grinsteiner.)

Masters of ceremony were Rod and Harv Huber. The program included a slide presentation depicting the life of Ann and Ted. Several songs popular in 1934 were sung by their children.

Nancy and Susan Zarambo poured the punch. Margie Miller, Darlene Huber, Elsie Sailer and Greta Ollenburger were at the guest book. Freida Wells and Ida Wegerle poured the coffee and Florence Baszler and Selma Unterseher cut the cake.

Ted loves to golf and fish. He still has an interest in farming, too. Ted served on a variety of committees in the community and church.

Ann has been active in community activities and church groups. She loves to quilt and sew.

They have a great love for their family and friends. They are giving people who think of others before themselves. God has richly blessed them and for this they are thankful.

HUBER LOCALS—
Ted and Ann were Godparents to the following:
Howard Huber, Don Huber, Byron Guenthner, Duane Guenthner, Luther Guenthner, Rodney Schmall, Kathleen Brobst, DyAnn Ellwein, Nadine Fuller, Eileen Shilts, Jeanette Zeller, and Mary Ann Isaak.

The yellow rose on the second tier of the cake is the flower Ann carried on their wedding day.

Throughout their married life Ann and Ted had several young people stay with them. There were Wally Baszler, Melvin Zeller, Dorothy Guenthner, Allan Richter, Whitney Miller, Phillip Abellaneda, and Rick Schumann.

Arvid and Barbara Oestrich managed the Huber farm for over 20 years.

The Emma Guenthner children that became like a second family are Florence Baszler, Evelyn Wiedrich, Bernice Richter, Dorothy Bauer, Paul, Marvin, Luther and Max Guenthner.

It is a good thing Ted and Ann took a trip to Europe in the fall of 1983, because Ted fell off the roof of the house and was incapacitated until golf season started. With the help of a golf cart, he played nine holes well.
