EMANUEL BAIER, 75, IS BURIED ON FRIDAY

Services were conducted at 2 p.m. Friday for Emanuel Baier, 75, Hazen, who died at his home there at 2 a.m. August 1.

Rev. Theilan officiated at the rites in the Peace Lutheran Church and burial was in the Peace Lutheran Cemetery at Hazen. The Aarthun-Singer Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements. Pallbearers were Paul Goetz, Louis Guiknecht, Sam Miller, Charles Uch, Ferdinand Rahn and Alex Wagner.

Mr.Baier was born in South Russia June 24, 1875, the son of Martin Baier and Minnie Netzer Baier. He was married in 1903 to Justina Bausch in South Russia and came to the United States the same year. He farmed until his retirement in 1936. Mr. Baier had been in ill health for two years.

Surviving are his wife; four sons, Reinhold, Traugert, John, and William Baier, all of Hazen; and five daughters, Mrs. Roselia Kitzman and Mrs. Rudolph (Regina) Hildebrandt, also of Hazen, Mrs. Lydia Weigum, Beulah, Mrs. Emil (Othelia) Mutzenberger, Stanton, and Mrs. Hugo (Nadella) Sailer, Mandan.

There are 28 grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. Two brothers and three sisters preceded him in death.
