R. GUENTHNER, 73, FORMER COUNTIAN, DIED AT LAUREL

Reinhold Guenthner, 73, formerly of rural Hazen, died at his Laurel, Mont., home last Friday morning after and extended illness.

Funeral services were held Monday at St. John’s Lutheran Church of Laurel, of which he was a member.  The Rev. Henry Fry officiated and burial was in the Sunset Memorial Gardens, Billings.

Born at Mannhaven Feb. 16, 1894, Mr. Guenthner was married to Elizabeth Isaak at Mannhaven Dec. 5, 1915. They farmed in the Mannhaven vicinity until moving to Walla Walla, Wash., in 1945. In 1948 they moved to Silesia, Mont., and to Laurel in 1959 upon Mr. Guenthner’s retirement.

Survivors include his widow; eight sons, Alvin, Hazen; Raymond and Theodore, Silesia; Harold, Pullman, Wash.; John, Brockton, Mass.; and Howard, Duane and Byron, Laurel; two daughters, Mrs. LeRoy Wells, Billings and Mrs. Gordon Arthurs, Walla Walla, Wash.

Also surviving are a brother Tobias and a sister, Mrs. Rosalia Isaak, both of Hazen; 29 grandchildren and a great grandchild.

A number of Hazenites went to Laurel for the funeral services.
