David W. Isaak

David W. Isaak, 57, Barnesville, Minn., died Jan. 14, 2008, in his home. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Jan. 18, in Our Savior's Lutheran Church, Barnesville. Interment will be in City Cemetery, Barnesville.

Visitation will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. today at Dobmeier Funeral Home, Barnesville, with prayer services at 7 p.m. Visitation continues 9 to 11 a.m. Friday at the church.

David, son of Raymond and Jeanette (Helvig) Isaak, was born April 16, 1950, in Hazen. At the age of 3 he moved with his family to Bismarck, where he attended school and grew to manhood. He graduated from St. Mary's High School in 1968. He married Connie Robinson. He worked in the hotel industry for a number of years. He married Elaine Geiger Oct. 31, 1986, in Bismarck. They made their home in Bismarck, where he managed the Eagles Club. They moved to Moorhead in 1989, where he began his career with Burlington Northern Railroad. He worked as a locomotive engineer until November 2007. In September 2005 they moved to Barnesville, where he lived until the time of his death.

Dave enjoyed fishing, hunting and woodworking. He loved classical music and enjoyed playing the piano. He prided himself in his culinary skills.

He is survived by his wife, Elaine; three sons and one daughter, Alexander (Jodi) Isaak, Blaine, Minn., Michael (Jennifer) Isaak, Sioux Falls, S.D., Carol Nowers, Fort Worth, Texas, and Troy (Kristi) White, Barnesville; and seven grandchildren, Mikayla and Trey Isaak, both at home in Blaine, Kaitlyn Isaak, at home in Sioux Falls, Tawnee Nicolson and Thomas Nowers, both at home in Fort Worth, and Victoria and Avery White, both at home in Barnesville. He is also survived by his mother, Jeanette Isaak, Hugo, Colo.; four brothers, Richard (Judy) Isaak, Spokane, Wash., Tom (Colleen) Isaak, Bismarck, Steve (Susan) Isaak, Aurora, Colo., and Dan (Janet) Isaak, Northglenn, Colo.; four sisters, Mary Koch, Aurora, Janel (Mark) Goldberg, Denver, Laura (Eric) Stoen, Byers, Colo., and Karen Brown, Denver; and his step-mother, Arlene Isaak, Arnegard.

He was preceded in death by his father, Raymond; and a son, Joshua.
