Gertrude Isaak

 

HAZEN - Gertrude "Gertie" Isaak, 85, Hazen, died Dec. 27, 2008, at Sakakawea Medical Center, Hazen. Services will be held at 10 a.m. MST Wednesday, Dec. 31, at St. Matthew Lutheran Church, Hazen, with the Rev. Toby Heller officiating. Burial will be in St. Paul's Lutheran Cemetery, rural Dodge.

Visitation will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. MST Tuesday at Seibel Funeral Home, Hazen.

Gertie was born Jan. 18, 1923, near Hazen, the daughter of Jacob and Katherina (Guenthner) Mohl. She was raised and educated at a country school, graduating from Hazen High School. She attended Fargo Business College at Fargo. On Dec. 30, 1945, she married Ervin Isaak at Trinity Lutheran Church, rural Hazen. Together they farmed north of Dodge their entire married lives. Gertie sold the farm and moved to Hazen in the fall of 1996. She enjoyed volunteering and was a member of St. Matthew Lutheran Church, Hazen.

She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Deb and Ernest Entzel, Lincoln; one granddaughter, Lori and Rick Kraus, Lincoln; one grandson, Chad and Susie Entzel, Bismarck; one brother, Vernon and Regina Mohl, Hazen; one sister, Lenora Huber-Kensmoe, Bismarck; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Gertie was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Ervin; two sons, Wesley and Randy Isaak; five sisters, Hilda Bohrer, Frieda Huber, Erna Brown, Emma Fretty and Elma Morast; and four brothers, Herbert, Ervin, Fred and Walter Mohl.
