Paul A. Isaak

CENTER -- Paul A. Isaak, 70, Center, died Sept. 20, 1998, in a Bismarck hospital. Services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Center, with the Revs. John Erickson and G.G. Neuberger officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery, with military rites by Center American Legion.

Visitation will be from 3-8 p.m. today and will continue at the church one hour prior to services.

Paul was born Jan. 4, 1928, in Hazen, the son of Arthur and Martha (Wiedrich) Isaak. He was raised in Krem and attended rural grade school there. He attended high school in Hazen, graduating in 1944. Paul served in the U.S. Army for two years. When he returned from the service, he worked for Isaak Cash Store in Center and the 18K Food Market in Bismarck. He married Luella Weigum, Nov. 23, 1950. In 1951 he began working for Standard Oil and operated the bulk station, first in Sanger and then in Center until 1968. He worked construction for Froechle and Sons and Northern Improvement until 1970. He then was employed by Minnkota Power Cooperative until his retirement in 1990.

Paul loved his family and grandchildren. He enjoyed golf, hobby farming, gardening and playing cards with friends and family. Paul will always be remembered for his wit and jokes.

He is survived by his wife, Luella; four sons and daughters-in-law, Bruce and Lil, Bismarck, Byron and Tere, Highland Ranch, Colo., and Burt and Brent, both of Center; his mother, Martha, Beulah; three brothers, Calvin, Littleton, Colo., Reuben and Jim, both of Bismarck; five sisters, Lucille Hickock, Penryn, Calif., Marlene Price, Hensler, Betty Lou Davenport, Battle Lake, Minn., Judy Johnson, Beulah, and Donna Miller, Coon Rapids, Minn.; and six grandchildren, Heather and Eric, Bismarck, Ahna and Nick, Highland Ranch, and Jamie and Jyler, Center.

He was preceded in death by his father, Arthur; two brothers, Robert and Benjamin; and two sisters, Mary Ann and Vera.
