MARGARET JOCHIM

Margaret was born on November 28, 1920, to Paul and Matilda (Renner) Pfliger in the Pleasant Valley area. She was raised and educated there graduating from Hazen High School. She attended Dickinson State College for one year. Margaret taught rural school south of Beulah where she met and married Joseph Jochim on August 26, 1941. To this union, ten children were born. Together they farmed south of Beulah for a short time. They then moved to a farm south of Hazen and several years later, purchased their own farm. Joseph passed away on April 24, 1968. Margaret moved to Hazen in 1974. She worked for Hazen Bottle Shop and Hanewald Clothing Store.

She is survived by her children, Sharon and Don Horning of Zap, ND, Bonnie and Dale Ziemann of Bismarck, Carol and Richard Tjaden of Minot, ND, Kathy and Claud Becker of Milnor, ND, Joe and Debi Jochim of Hazen, Glenn and Donna Jochim of Thermopolis, WY, Glenda and James DuHaime of Goffstown, NH, Janet Jochim of Mandan, Jerald Jochim of Cody, WY, Michael Jochim and Brenda Sherer of Lakeville, MN; 17 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.

Margaret was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Joseph; one grandson, Robert Paul Horning; three sisters, Mary, Rose, and Edith; four brothers, Leonard, Joseph, Leo and Lawrence.
