Another Pioneer of Mercer County Passed Away

Christina Miller, mother of Gottlieb, John and Samuel Miller, passed away at 5 o’clock this morning at the home of Gottlieb, about 8 miles north of Hazen.  General debility, caused by old age, was the cause of her death, she brought her life’s span up to 85 years.

Funeral services will be held Sunday afternoon at 2 o’clock (slow time) at the Krem German Lutheran Church.

Mrs. Christine Miller, nee Christine Maedche, was born in Leipzig, Russia, in the providence of Bessarabia, on the 7th day of September, 1845.

In 1866, she was married to Fred Miller, in 1886, the family emigrated to America, and made their home in Hebron, ND, for a year, but the following year Mr. Miller took up a homestead in Mercer County in the Expansion area, where they resided until they retired from active farming.

On June the 19th, Mrs. Miller passed away, having brought her age to 84 years, 9 months and 12 days.  General debility caused by old age was the cause of her demise.
