STANTON RITES HELD FOR ELMER RAHN, 14

Funeral rites for Elmer John Rahn, 14, Stanton, were held at 2 p.m. Thursday in the Salem Lutheran Church at Stanton with the Rev. E. Ketterling officiating.

Burial was made in the Stanton Cemetery. Pallbearers were Lee Stephens, Jim Grannis, Dale Miller, Leonard Borner, Jerry Horning, and Gilbert Krecklau.

Elmer drowned while swimming in the Missouri River near the Stanton Park Saturday.

Born April 20, 1938, in Hazen, Elmer was the son of William and Jacobina Knecht Rahn. He attended Stanton rural schools and the Lutheran Church. His mother died in April of 1951.

In addition to his father, he leaves four brothers, Eldor, Lanesboro, Minn.; William, Chicago; Russell, at home; and Arthur, in the Navy; two sisters, Mrs. Rueben Zeiszler, Hazen and Mrs. Martin Gabb, Spokane, Wash.; and his grandmother, Mrs. Christina Knecht, Hazen.

The Aarthun-Singer Funeral Home at Hazen was in charge of funeral arrangements.
