MRS. GEORGE RICHEY OF MANDAN IS DEAD
Death Occurred Wednesday Morning. Funeral Held Today at 2 O’Clock

The day before Mrs. George Ritchey of this city was to celebrate her 30th wedding anniversary, she answered the call of the Master above, bringing an end to weeks of untold suffering.  Death came not unexpectedly.

She passed away in the presence of her family at 8:16 o’clock Wednesday evening, death being due to a chronic illness, which for many days puzzled physicians.

Miss Anna Amelia Eger was born in Red Wing, Minn., Aug. 31, 1971. Her family moved to the place where Stanton is now located and there lived the life of pioneers. She was married to George Washington Ritchey Nov. 30, 1886. If she had lived until Thanksgiving Day, her death would have ended just 30 years of married life.

Mrs. Ritchey was the mother of four children, Gertrude Blanche, William Earl, Ruth Mary, and Gladys Violet, all of whom were at the bedside.  When Mrs. Ritchey was but three years old her mother passed away on Thanksgiving Day.

Mrs. Ritchey was one of the early settlers of this state and popular in both Morton, Oliver and Mercer counties, where she was well-known.

The funeral services will be held from the Methodist church this afternoon at 2 o’clock. Rev. R.R. Hedtke will be in charge

Besides her immediate family, Mrs. Ritchey leaves a sisters, Mrs. Lucy Moulette, and her brother, Ed Eger. Her father passed away February 5, 1915. She was a member of the Lady Maccabees of the World.
