ADAM SAILER, JR.

Adam Sailer Junior after a long struggle against disease finally gave up the struggle and departed this life on Sunday the 22nd day of May 1927 at the St. Alexius Hospital in Bismarck, North Dakota. As soon as could be conveniently done, the remains were brought to Stanton where the body lay at his home awaiting the arrival of the children from distant parts. The funeral ceremony was held on Wednesday at 2 o’clock p.m. at the Union Lutheran Church. The Rev’s Grill and Monson officiated. The body was laid to rest in the Lutheran part of the Stanton Cemetery, where it will probably lay until the great Judgment Day.

Adam Sailer Junior was born in Crimea, in Russia, August 16, 1865. In 1889, he was married to Jacobina Benz. In 1893, they concluded that the United States was the place for them and they picked up their few things, including Andrew, who was then a baby and came to Menno, South Dakota. From this place they came to Mercer County, North Dakota. They landed here in the Spring of 1894 and have remained here until his death.

By hard work and perseverance Adam managed to save some money and other property. Besides his widow there are several children: Andrew, Pauline, Elizabeth, Edward, Emil, Ida, Reinhold, Theophil, Theodore and Ella.
