Carol F. Sailer

Carol F. Sailer, 57, of Stanton, died on Sunday, December 5, 2004, of complication from a long battle with Leukemia at Fairview Medical Center, Minneapolis, Minnesota.  Funeral services were held Friday, December 10, 2004, at Peace Lutheran Church, Hazen, with Rev. Marvin Mutzenberger officiating.  Burial followed in St. Paul’s Lutheran Cemetery, rural Hazen.

Carol was born October 27, 1947, at Bismarck, North Dakota, a daughter to Howard and Opal (Ench) Holtan. She was raised and educated at Washburn, North Dakota, graduating from Washburn High School in 1965. Carol attended Dickinson State College and Josef’s School of Hair Design in Fargo. She worked as a beautician in Bismarck, Washburn and Hazen. On June 20, 1975, she married Dallas Sailer at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, rural Hazen. Carol worked for Krause’s Super Value in Hazen for 12 years. She enjoyed ceramics, crocheting, singing and playing piano and Bunco. She was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, rural Hazen, where she had served as Sunday School Teacher and Superintendent. Carol had served on the Stanton School Board where she had also served as president.

Carol is survived by her husband of 29 years, Dallas; one daughter, Sara Sailer, two sons, Christopher Sailer and Andrew Sailer, all of Fargo; one brother and sister-in-law, William and Janie Holtan, of Grand Forks; her mother-in-law, Erna Sailer, Hazen; and seven nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her father-in-law, Albert Sailer.
