Frieda Eva Sailer

Frieda Eva (Weisz) Sailer, 94, passed away Aug. 2, 2017, at Knife River Care Center, Beulah. Services will be held at 10 a.m. CDT Tuesday, Aug. 8, at St. Paul Lutheran Church, rural Hazen, with the Rev. Bill Wagner officiating. Burial will follow at St. Paul Lutheran Cemetery.

Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday at Barbot Funeral Home, Hazen.

Frieda was born Oct. 18, 1922, in Krem, to Gustav and Johanna (Linde) Weisz. She married Louis Sailer on Nov. 25, 1945. Together they farmed north of Stanton until Louis’ death in 1991. Frieda moved to Hazen in 2000 and later became a resident at the Knife River Care Center in 2013. She has been a life-long member of St. Paul Lutheran Church. Frieda enjoyed gardening, canning, sewing, embroidering, quilting and singing.

Frieda is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Brenda and Lee Miller, Spencer, Iowa; her son and daughter-in-law, Kevin and Rosemary Sailer, Stanton; and her daughter-in-law, Esther Sailer, Hazen. She was blessed with six grandchildren, Angela and Ross Miller, Nathan and Scott Sailer, Michael and Melissa Sailer; one great-granddaughter, Lilyanna Sailer; and one sister, Leola Allen, Lincoln, Neb.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Louis; one son, Roger; two brothers, Gust and Leonard; and four sisters, Hulda, Ruth, Gerda and Ida.

The family would like to thank Knife River Care Center and Sakakawea Hospice for their comfort and care.
