JACOB SAILER PASSES SUNDAY

Resident of Mercer County since 1894, Jacob Sailer, farmer north of Krem, died last Sunday, November 9, 1941, at 8:30. Mr. Sailer had reached the age of 81 years. He had earned his reputation as a capable successful farmer.

Jacob Sailer was born in the Russian Crimea, December 19, 1859, to Mr. and Mrs. Andrew Sailer. In 1881 he married Frericka Benz. They continued to live in Russia until 1893, when they came to the United States and moved to a farm at Menno, South Dakota. One year later, in 1894, they homesteaded on a farm northeast of Krem, Mercer County. There they remained until 1900, when they moved to the farm where Mr. Sailer died. Mrs. Sailer had preceded him in death on May 17, 1938.

Surviving are three children: Mrs. Joe (Elizabeth) Boeckel, Sweet Home, Oregon, and Andrew and Adam, both living north of Hazen, North Dakota.

Funeral services for Mr. Sailer will be held this Thursday afternoon at 1 o’clock. Rev. Phil Peter will officiate at St. Peters Church and interment at the St. Peter’s Church Cemetery.
