Marilyn M. Sailer

 

HAZEN—Marilyn M. Sailer, 72, Hazen, was welcomed into heaven, surrounded by her family on Aug. 2, 2014. Services will be held at 10 a.m. CDT Wednesday, August 6, at Peace Lutheran Church, Hazen, with the Rev. Walt Wolff officiating.  Visitation will be one hur prior to the service on Wednesday at the church.

Marilyn was born Feb. 14, 1942, to Emil and Emma (Whitmeyer) Schwarz in Hazen. She attended Hazen Public Schools. On June 14, 1963, she married James Sailer, and they shared 51 wonderful years together. They had three children, James, Pamela and Kimberly. Marilyn worked in the Stanton School system for 18 years as cook, where she was well known for the homemade bread and delicious meals that she cooked for the students every day.

Marilyn loved fishing, gardening, quilting, cooking and canning. She also enjoyed spending time with her nine grandchildren and her two great-grandchildren.

Marilyn is survived by her husband, James Sailer, Hazen; her son, James Dean Sailer, (Marion), Pick City; two daughters, Pamela (Stan) Burling, Hazen, and Kimberly Sailer, Bismarck; a brother, Myron (Connie) Schwarz, Vancouver, Wash.; a sister Marion (Roger) Halverson, Lincoln; nine grandchildren; two great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, Leonard, Ervin and Edwin; and two sisters, Lavina and Linda.

The family would like to thank the staff of Hospice and Sakakawea Medical Center for their care and compassion during this difficult time.
