EUGENE SASSE
April 27, 1917-March 30, 1997

Eugene R. Sasse, 79, of Beulah, died Sunday, March 30, 1997, at Sakakawea Medical Center, Hazen. Services will be held 10 a.m. MST, Thursday, April 3, at Zion Lutheran Church, Beulah, with Rev. Reinhold Markwart officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Mr. Sasse was born April 27, 1917, at Zap, a son of Wilhelm and Theresa (Hinsz) Sasse. He was raised and educated near Zap.  On Oct. 9, 1936, he married Emma Sailer at Zap. They farmed three and one-half miles north of Zap until May of 1950, when they moved to a farm east of Beulah. In June 1975, they retired and moved to Beulah where they have since lived. He was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, Beulah and a previous member of Immanuel Lutheran Church, Zap.  He enjoyed farming, carpentry, spending time with his family as well as playing cards and Aggravation.

He is survived by his wife, Emma; one son and daughter-in-law, Glenn and Marlene Sasse of Beulah; one daughter and son-in-law, Judy and LeRoy Goetz of Flasher; eight grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and one sister, Emelia Hoffman of Great Falls, Mont.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one son, Darrel, one great-grandson, Jackson Weidner, three brothers and three sisters.

Arrangements conducted by Seibel Funeral Homes, Beulah and Hazen.
