Mrs. Jacob Schwalbe died Wednesday morning, Feb. 21, 1945, at her home in Hazen as the result of a heart attack. Death claimed Mrs. Schwalbe 12 days after her husband had passed away from a lingering illness.

Born June 18, 1877, in South Russia, Elisa Gust was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Gust. She was married to Jacob Schwalbe in March of 1900 in South Russia and later that year they came to the United States and homesteaded 20 miles north of Hazen.

Surviving are her children, Mrs. Maria Zabel and Otto Schwalbe of rural Hazen, Mrs. Delia Brooks of California, and Herbert Schwalbe of Montana, and a sister-in-law, Mrs. Marvin Oster, of Hazen.

Funeral arrangements have not yet been completed, pending word from those from a distance.
