O. SCHWALBE         

Otto Schwalbe, 79, Hazen, died on Thursday, May 9, 1991, at a Bismarck hospital. Funeral services were held Monday, May 13, at English Lutheran Church in Hazen with Rev. Bill Wagner officiating.

Mr. Schwalbe was born on Jan. 30, 1912, at Expansion to Jacob and Eliza (Gust) Schwalbe. He was raised and attended school north of Hazen. He married Alma Baszler June 28, 1942, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Mannhaven. They farmed and ranched north of Hazen. In 1948 they moved to Hazen due to the building of the Garrison Dam. Mrs. Schwalbe died Feb. 28, 1972. Mr. Schwalbe was a member of English Lutheran Church and various clubs and organizations.

Survivors include two daughters and one son-in-law, Judith Schwalbe of Grants Pass, Ore., and Patricia and Milton Fuchs, of Wahpeton; seven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and one sister, Mary Zabel, of Hazen.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, one daughter, one sister, and two brothers.

Pallbearers were Ervin Drath, Fred Menge, Erwin Tschaekofske, Rudy Hildebrand, John Schwab and Don Huber. Burial followed in the Hazen City Cemetery.
