GOTTLIEBE WAGNER

Mrs. Alexander Wagner, nee Gottliebe Gust, died in a Mandan hospital on Thursday, November 14, following an operation. She had attained the age of 58 years, 11 months and 5 days.

Mrs. Wagner was born on the 9th of December, 1881, in Mannsburg, Bessarabia, South Russia. In 1903 she came to America to Mercer County, North Dakota, and took up a homestead near Expansion.

One December 12, 1900, she was married to Alexander Wagner, who had a farm near the post office, Sofia, Mercer County. For 9 years they lived on that farm, then they acquired a farm 15 miles north of here, where they have resided since, lived happy and raised their children.

Mrs. Wagner had been ailing for some time. She had had two operations before this last one, the shock of which she withstood fairly well. The third operation was necessary but proved fatal.

She leaves her grieving husband, and seven children, who are:  Maria Schiermesiter, Emil, Elsie, Theophil, Helmut, Wilbert and Arthur. Also three grandchildren, one brother and one sister, Mrs. Jacob Schwalbe.

Funeral services took place at Emanuel Church (Kronthal) last Sunday afternoon with Rev. Phillip Peter delivering the sermon. Her remains were laid to rest in the church cemetery, accompanied to her last resting place by her relatives, many friends and acquaintances.

We wish to express our sympathy to the bereaved family.
