Emil C. Wolf
Oct. 28, 1912-May 5, 1997

Emil C. Wolf, 84, a resident of Knife River Care Center, Beulah, died Monday, May 5, 1997, at Medcenter One, Bismarck.  Services will be held 10 a.m. MDT, Friday, May 9, at Zion Lutheran Church, Beulah with Rev. Kris Nyman officiating.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Visitation hours will be Thursday from 2-8 p.m. at Siebel Funeral Home, Beulah.

Mr. Wolf was born Oct. 28, 1912, at the family home north of Hazen, a son of Joseph and Salomina (Mueller) Wolf. He was raised and educated north of Hazen. After school Mr. Wolf moved to Fairview, Mont., where he worked in the sugarbeet fields, as well as sheepherding. In the late 1930’s he moved back to north of Hazen to help out on the family farm. On Nov. 6, 1941, Emil married Hannah Schopp at Zion Lutheran Church, Beulah.  They farmed north of Beulah until 1946 when they moved into Beulah and have lived since.  Mr. Wolf worked in the underground mines of Knife River Coal Mine until 1952, when he went to work on the Garrison Dam project.  After completion of the Garrison Dam, he began working as a carpenter locally and at the Minot Air Force Base.  After a severe injury during the Minot Air Force Base construction, he went to work for the State Hiway Department maintenance crew in the Beulah area.  He retired in 1978 and operated his own bait shop in Beulah for 10 years.  Mrs. Wolf died June 18, 1996. Mr. Wolf enjoyed woodworking, gardening, tinkering around the home, and antique tool restoration.

He was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, Beulah, Germans from Russia, served on the church council, and volunteered his services for the needs of the church.  He always maintained a special bond with his wife, children, and grandchildren.

He is survived by three sons and daughters-in-law, Glenton and Cheryl of Grand Forks, Walter and Sarah of Center, and Donald and Soledad of Beulah; five grandchildren; one brother, Erwin Wolf; numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Hannah, two sisters, Anna and Bertha, and one brother, Otto.
