TOBIAS WOLF

Tobias Wolf, 77, Hazen, died on Sunday, April 15, 1990, at Sakakawea Medical Center, Hazen.

Funeral services were held Friday, April 20, at Peace Lutheran Church in Hazen with the Revs. Duane Hanson and Joel Sherer officiating. Burial was at the Beulah Baptist Cemetery.

He was born north of Hazen on Sept. 19, 1912, to J. Jacob and Katharine (Morast) Wolf. He was raised and attended rural schools there. He worked as a laborer on the Ft. Peck Dam Project for a time. On Dec. 16, 1937, he married Esther Wittmaier at the Beulah Baptist Church.  He began farming and they moved to their present farm south of Hazen in 1940. They won the Soil Conservation Award for the district in 1966. They retired from farming in 1984. He had served on the ASCS committee and was a member of Peace Lutheran Church in Hazen and was active in the church council.

He is survived by his wife, Esther, of Hazen; one son, Rodney Wolf, Killdeer; one daughter, Arletta Schuh, Rapid City, S.D.; seven grandchildren; one great grandchild; one sister, Ida Grosz, Hazen; and six brothers, Herb Wolf, Beulah, Otto Wolf, Hillsboro, Ore., Johnny Wolf, Circle, Mont., Martin Wolf, Terry, Mont., Ernest Wolf, Beulah, and Ted Wolf, Hazen.

He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, and two sisters.
