1880 Census Index

The 1880 Census for Ramsey county consisted mostly of Fort Totten. Indians outnumbered settlers and were certainly in no mood to be counted. The future county seat of Devils Lake was just getting organized and Stump Lake consisted of four families. The rapid growth that was to take place was still in the future.
