William Levi Adams was born in 1867 in Alexander County, Illinois. As a small boy he moved with his parents to Missouri where he grew to manhood.

He was married to Sarah Jane Kelly on August 10, 1893 in Mountain Grove, Missouri. Here they lived for four years, then they came to Nebraska in a covered wagon, making two trips in 1889 and 1900.

To this marriage eight children wee born, Enos, Benjamin, Vern, Cliff, John, Vic, ?, and George, who died in infancy. William and Sarah farmed and raised beets in the Tilden and Oakdale areas. William died in 1927. His widow, Sarah, continued to live in Oakdale and made a place in Antelope County history in her own right. Sarah died at the age of 86 years.
