Carl Rudolph Ahlers and Elsie Loseke Ahlers lived in Antelope, Platte, and Holt counties during their married life. They were the parents of six children: Louis, Clara, Irene, Robert, Arlene and Rose. They have 32 grandchildren and 26 great grandchildren at the time of this writing (1984).

Carl Rudolph was born in Tama County, Iowa on July 1, 1897 and moved with his parents, Mr and Mrs Otto Ahlers Sr. and family to a farm northwest of Clearwater, Nebraska in 1902.

On July 22, 1925, he married Elsie Loseke. She was born near Platte Center, Nebraska on March 3, 1905 to Mr and Mrs Louis Loseke. Her father passed away when she was six years of age. She moved, with her mother and step-father, Mr and Mrs John Schrieber, to Clearwater in 1925. Rudy and Elsie lived in Antelope County for 32 years, except for living two years in Platte County. In 1956, they sold their farm and moved to a farm in Holt County, living there for 18 years.
