Clara Jane Niblow was born in Monticello, Iowa. She was left an orphan and was raised by her grandmother, Mrs. Dennis. They moved to Coleridge, Nebraska where she grew up and married William A. Bearinger on March 17, 1892. They had four children; Grace, Blanche, Hazel and Van. In 1899 they moved to Creighton where a son, Lloyd was born.
In 1901 they moved to a farm northwest of Orchard where William died in 1919. His children married as follows: Grace to John Smith; Hazel to L. L. Preston, Van to Agnes Donohue and Lloyd to Ruth Bailey.
